There are certain ways in creating a flat lay photo. When creating a flat lay photo, you need to have objects that relate to each other. What also helps is if you dont have a lot of open space so your photo doesn't look blank. Also, when taking the picture you need to make sure you are holding the camera flat across, not tilt or angle. It will defeat the purpose.
